Vilmara Lucas is a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist dedicated to supporting immigrants, newcomers, and Black individuals in their mental health journey. She provides a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can navigate their experiences, build resilience, and develop meaningful coping strategies.
Her approach is strength-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic techniques. With extensive experience in addressing work-related stress, trauma, and major life transitions, Vilmara tailors her interventions to each client’s unique circumstances.
Beyond her clinical practice, Vilmara is a PhD candidate and researcher at the University of Toronto, where she conducts research on immigrant mental health experiences. She offers therapy in both Portuguese and English.
